but he does do his bit for the environment
never takes showers or baths.
He doesn’t put the heating on
even when its minus ten degrees.
or put the toilet seat down
but claims he never pees
he doesn’t tip waiters
but if he has to, not much
still, he is very continental
he always going Dutch.
but when I needed a kidney
he was at the front of the queue
to ask if he could have my laptop
if I didn’t come through.

A really great atmosphere and some class writing to boot. Great to see everyone bounding in wide-eyed and bushy-tailed, buzzin’ with stuff they’d been working on over the last month. And brilliant to see some new faces too.

All readings are now available on the podcast – we’ve added some individual works to the blog as well. If you read an original piece on the night and your performance doesn’t appear here, send the text of your work to wordsaloud@theworkshop.co.uk and we’ll sort it.
