The Seamstress by Geraldine Shaw

I have brought you fragments.
Do you have nimble fingers?
Are you able to use the strands
To weave a beautiful cloth?
I place the fragments before you.
Does the pattern match -
With anything you know?
Or are the fragments without form?
Seamstress, I need a new gown.
This one is old and tattered,
Fraying round the edges -
Lost its silken sheen.
Do you have nimble fingers?
Can you make the gown…
Make it for me?
Can you mend a broken dream…?
